Over the weekend of February 7-9, YPC hosted two simultaneous events: the
2nd Annual All-City Young Men’s Honor Chorus, and Equal Voices, a
workshop for music educators.
The festival for young men featured the Central Bucks High School West Men’s Choir from Pennsylvania, the Trevor Day School Troubadours from New York City, our own Young Men’s Honor Chorus, and students from various schools all over New York City for a total of 80 boys.
After a day and a half of rehearsals led by YPC’s Cara Tasher, as well as musical games, pizza parties, and a lot of laughter among new friends, the All-City Chorus performed an energetic program on Sunday at the Manhattan Church of Christ for an extremely enthusiastic audience. What was the best part of the weekend for the boys? We asked them and here’s what they said: “Being able to learn, sing, and have fun.” “Singing, eating, and mingling.” “Singing with so many good singers.” “Learning new music.”
