Jon Holden, New York University Professor of Music, has been principal pianist of The Young People's Chorus of NYC (YPC) since 1990 and through the years has accompanied the ensemble in the world premiere of 36 new works commissioned by the chorus for its Transient Glory series. Mr. Holden is also an instructor in the YPC's Satellite Schools program, which brings the acclaimed YPC choral program into New York City public schools.

Mr. Holden performs frequently as a solo pianist, accompanist, conductor and musical director of such companies as Encompass New Opera Theater and Dicapo Opera Theatre. A native Californian, Mr. Holden earned a degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music before pursuing studies in Italy and France, where he attended the Paris Conservatory. He has since performed on both sides of the Atlantic.
