JoAnne Harris joins The Young People’s Chorus of NYC as a recent graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She teaches at five schools throughout NYC as part of The Young People's Chorus Satellite School program.
At Concordia, JoAnne studied under renowned choral composer and conductor, René Clausen. JoAnne served as the Concordia Choir’s 2005-2006 President, and assisted the Bel Canto Women’s Chorus and the Cantabile Women’s Chorus, as section leader. During college she enjoyed a variety of musical experiences, taking active part in an 8-part jazz choir, liturgical choir, and conducting a student ensemble of mixed voices. JoAnne spent the last summer as music director of Stephen Schwartz’s “Working” at the Marshalltown Community Theatre in Marshalltown, IA. She has studied voice under Vicki Fingalson and Lucy Thrasher.
