Transient Glory® IX
May 6, 2011
92nd Street Y, Kaufmann Concert Hall
The Young People's Chorus of New York City™ will present its annual Transient Glory® concert, a virtuosic evening of exciting premieres of new commissions by Paquito D'Rivera, Michael Harrison, Tania León and Meredith Monk.
YPC's Transient Glory® concert series was created in 2001 to generate recognition among today's composers of the important instrument that is a child's voice during that fleeting period when it reveals a particular innocence and poignancy. The YPC has commissioned more than 50 pieces of music from a Who's Who of today's most respected contemporary composers. The Transient Glory® concerts have since expanded to include workshops, publications, two recordings and recognition of the YPC as a groundbreaker in increasing the repertoire of children's chorus while spotlighting the diversity of contemporary music.
Tickets may be purchased through the 92nd Street Y Box Office at 212-415-5440.
