This program features the world premiere of the Kronos Quartet/YPC co-commission, “Another Secret eQuation,” in which Riley addresses the actions of children's elders "and the overwhelmingly messy world the kids were being handed," as well as the New York premiere of Transylvanian Horn Courtship, which draws inspiration from Riley's legendary Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band performances of the 1960s with specially designed string instruments with metal horns created for Kronos by MacArthur Fellow Walter Kitundu.

"The Dream" with American Ballet Theatre
The Metropolitan Opera House

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City™ returns to the Metropolitan Opera House for the American Ballet Theatre’s production of “The Dream,” based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The YPC will perform in multiple performances of this work in June and July. There is, perhaps, no happier ode to the illusory nature of love than Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Ashton's beguiling retelling of this comedy of errors is set in the magical woods of Victorian England to a spellbinding score by Felix Mendelssohn.

Tickets may be purchased through the American Ballet Theatre
