Sophia Miller
Assistant Conductor, YPC

Sophia Miller, Assistant Conductor, serves as conductor of the Prelude Chorus and as vocal coach and assistant conductor of all other YPC divisions. She directs the Partner Schools Program and teaches in YPC's Satellite Schools, bringing the acclaimed YPC choral program into public schools throughout New York City. Additionally, Ms. Miller directs the College Bound Program in the unwavering YPC goal of ensuring that all YPC graduates go on to higher education, throughpreparing YPC juniors and seniors for standardized testing, the college search process and the college application process, and helping to create artistic supplemental materials.
Since joining YPC in 2007, Ms. Miller has conducted at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, the 92nd Street Y, Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center, and Symphony Space and has prepared YPC choruses for radio and television appearances, recording sessions, performances in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center's concert halls, and wich such artists as the Kronos Quartet, the Stephen Petronio Dance Company, and The New York Pops. She is the co-music director of SoHo Voce, a women's ensemble based in New York City, and is active as a studio recording artist for commercial, film and choral demos. As a choral clinician, she has given workshops and guest conducted in New England and New York State as well as the NYC School of Strings.
Ms. Miller is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Ithaca College School of Music where she studied conducting with Janet Galván.
