Amy Kotsonis
Assistant Conductor / Director of Workshops
Amy Kotsonis, Assistant Conductor, directs the Intermezzo Division, is the assistant conductor of the Young Men and Prelude Divisions, and serves as vocal coach. Ms. Kotsonis is also the Director of Workshops, and is a teacher in the YPC Satellite School Program, working in the New York City public schools to bring a choral experience to children throughout New York City.
Ms. Kotsonis is a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, and was selected as Music Student of the Year in 2001. She earned a Master of Arts in Choral Conducting and Music History from the University of New Hampshire where she served as an assistant conductor of choirs and instructor for techniques and methods in choral music. Ms. Kotsonis has taught in public schools around New York City and Boston for several years, and has been the assistant coordinator, instructor and conductor at the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire for the past three years. She was the interim conductor for Sandpipers—the Seacoast Children’s Chorus, and has performed as conductor and organist for several churches. Ms. Kotsonis has studied voice with Dianna Heldman and Jenni Cook, and conducting under Andrew Boysen, Jr. and William Kempster.
